Have a Heart This Valentines Day
Wildlife Shelter Support Luncheon or Dinner
Valentines Day 2010, one year and one week on since the Black Saturday bushfires – Chum Creek wildlife carer Belinda Gales has had great support from the community to rebuild the wildlife shelter, sheds and pens which were destroyed in the Black Saturday fires, nearly a year ago. An ongoing WISH LIST still remains for funds to take care of the animals at the shelter to cover feeding costs, animal rehabilitation and vet expenses.
We encourage everyone to book a day out for Valentines Day with your partner, family or friends and support this wonderful cause for our fury friends
Enjoy our Main Event platter to share, showcasing Yarra Valley farmgate fresh seasonal produce (where possible) followed by a Yarra Valley Chocolate Indulgence platter to finish.
Email marie@whisperinghills.com.au for a full grazing menu if you require urgently, otherwise the full menu will be listed shortly.
Enjoy the day with live vibes by our local and very talented Highly Strung

We believe we make one of the best Yarra Valley wines, the Cabernet Sauvignon. Our first commercial release of our Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was in 2000. We had produced a Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon prior to this release but, we felt that the 2000 would be the first wine to release as it was showing great signs of a typical Yarra Valley wine, cool climate, elegant, great structure, amazing colour and complex enough to stand the test of time. We recently opened a bottle, the nose was amazing, just beautiful, still with vibrant colour and the flavour so soft and silky. This 2000 Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon tastes like pure silk. We only have a few dozen, so we are going to disply in our Cellar Door and sell the last few with great pride. The Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is the variety that most of our Cellar Door guest enjoy. Also we really enjoy making Cabernet Sauvignon. We have both old vine Cabernet Sauvignon growing (24 yrs old) on our single vineyard property and we also have younger Cabernet Sauvignon growing (12 yrs old).
So we really believe that over time our best producing wine might just be our Cabernet Sauvignon. Living in the Yarra Valley, growing and making wine has been the most satisfying hobby that one could imagine, however it is agriculture and with many hours of hard work in the field it really does pay off when we are sitting around the fire with a lovely glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and nibbles.
The Yarra Valley wines have a wonderful reputation not only in Australia but in many parts of the world, and it’s a heart warming to know that we contribute to such a wonderful industry.
Cheers to the Yarra Valley Wines -
And cheers to the ‘King’ Cabernet Sauvignon -

A baby girl “Darcey”
A few weeks ago we had a visit from Mr & Mrs Seabrook (Rachael & Stuart). Rachael and Stuart are a very special family to Whispering Hills. Firstly Rachel became our very first (private) wine club member through our Adopt-a-Vine program in January 2004 and gave to Stuart as a wedding gift. This would be their first official document as Mr & Mrs Seabrook. Their recent visit was wonderful, they had come to show us their new addition to the Seabrook family, a beautiful little baby girl ”Darcey” – Thank you so much for the visit we really enjoyed hearing all your news. We hope in many years to come we can watch both Darcey and your Vine grow. All the best from the Lyons Family.
